Wisconsin’s Premier Mariachi
 

Founded in 2017, Mariachi Monarcas de Milwaukee was created with a single vision — to preserve, share, and elevate the rich tradition of Mexican mariachi music in the heart of the Midwest. What began as a small collective of passionate musicians has grown into a respected ensemble recognized for its artistry, professionalism, and cultural impact across Wisconsin and beyond.
 

Our Story
 

The name Monarcas draws inspiration from the monarch butterfly, a timeless symbol of migration, endurance, and transformation. Just as the monarch journeys thousands of miles to survive and thrive, our ensemble represents the spirit of the immigrant community — carrying culture, language, and identity wherever life leads.
 

Through our performances, we celebrate the strength and beauty of that journey — honoring the generations who came before us, and embracing those who have grown up far from their roots, seeking to reconnect with the culture and traditions of their ancestors.

In doing so, we continue to build new roots here in Wisconsin, creating spaces where heritage is not only remembered but reborn through music, pride, and community.

Our musicians have shared the stage with internationally acclaimed groups such as Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán and Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles, proudly representing Wisconsin’s growing mariachi community on local and national stages.
